WEEK 1: June 17-21 (Deposit due June 15)

WHO: The camps are ideal for summer league and year-round boys and girls ages 8-18 who want to develop advanced swimming skills. The camps will not serve as swim lessons.

WHAT: Land and water sessions will aim to create championship quality swimming habits. All aspects of competitive swimming will be covered: the four competitive swim strokes, racing starts, turns, and race strategy.

PRICE: $250 with $25 discounts to Alumni, UR Staff, siblings, and multiple weeks. (A non-refundable $150 deposit is due two days prior to the start of camp.)

SCHEDULE:

Sunday (4 hours): Swimmers check in and receive camp gift (t-shirt and cap). Introduction to camp staff followed by swim session until 4:00 p.m.

Monday - Thursday (7.5 hours):
8:30 a.m. - Campers Arrive
8:30 - 9:30 a.m. - Land Instruction
9:30 - 11:30 a.m. - Swim Instruction
11:30 - 1:00 p.m. - Lunch and Rec
1:00 - 2:00 p.m. - Land Instruction
2:00 - 3:45 p.m. - Swim Instruction
4:00 p.m. - Campers Depart

LUNCH: The campers will walk to Richmond's Heilman Dining Center for lunch on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday under the supervision of the coaching staff. Lunch fee is included in camp costs.

EQUIPMENT: All campers will need a competitive swim suit and goggles. No two piece suit for the girls. No board shorts for the boys. Shorts, shirts, towels, and shoes are necessary for land activities including lunch.

Matt Barany
As a Richmonder, Coach Barany is proud to host the Spider Swim Camp at the University of Richmond. Barany received the A-10 Coach of the Year Award in 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2011. His Spiders continue to dominate the A-10 by winning 10 of 11 championships. He will coach two Spider swimmers at the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team Trials in Omaha, NE June 24 - June 28, 2012.

Coach Stensby has finished his first year at Richmond after a three year stay at Gardner-Webb. His swim camp experience includes coaching the University of Michigan swim camps.
